Telangana’s government has ordered officials to investigate land around former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s farmhouse.

It says about 700 acres may be involved, including 388 acres of government land.

The government says any government land found can be recovered and given to eligible poor people.

The BRS says the allegations are meant to distract people from the Congress government’s problems.

BRS leaders also questioned why the farmhouse was described as about 67 acres in the Assembly while Revanth Reddy had earlier mentioned 1,000 acres.

BJP leader Bandi Sanjay said allegations are not enough and that criminal action should follow if evidence exists.

He also criticized the government’s handling of alleged Dharani portal irregularities.

The disagreement has created a continuing political fight over 22-A land restrictions.

More arguments are expected after the Assembly session ends.
