Pune Education Dept Surveys Children of Single Mothers
The Education Department in Pune, India, is doing a special survey for the first time.
They want to find out how many children have single mothers in the state.
This is because single mothers often have a hard time taking care of their children's education.
The survey is being done in all the districts of Maharashtra.
So far, 17 districts have sent their information.
The goal is to help these children by giving them special support and facilities.
A social worker named Heramb Kulkarni said that there are about 54 lakh single mothers in the state, but the exact number of their children is not known.
This survey will help the government make better decisions to support these children.
The Education Department in Maharashtra is conducting its first-ever survey to collect data on children of single mothers.
The survey aims to gather district-wise statistics of children from 1st to 12th standard whose mothers are single.
So far, 17 districts have submitted data, and the goal is to collect information from all districts in the state.
The initiative is led by Sharad Gosavi, Chairman of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE).
The survey is intended to help the government provide educational facilities and support to these children, addressing the economic and social challenges faced by single mothers.
