Parliament Tree Transplant Due to Security Concerns
A tree near a gate often used by the Prime Minister at the Parliament building is being moved due to security concerns.
The Special Protection Group (SPG) requested the move because the tree blocks the VVIP route.
The Delhi Forest Department gave the go-ahead, and the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) is handling the work.
The tree, called a Silver Trumpet tree, will be moved to a new spot within the Parliament complex, and the CPWD will plant new trees in its place.
A tree at Parliament's Gaj Dwar, used by the Prime Minister, will be transplanted.
The SPG identified the tree as a security hindrance on the VVIP route.
The Delhi Forest Department approved the transplantation request.
The tree is a seven-year-old Silver Trumpet tree (Tabebuia Argentea).
It will be moved to Prerna Sthal within the Parliament complex.
