Delhi High Court Tells Bachchan to Appear if Settlement Fails
Amitabh Bachchan asked the court to protect his name, picture and voice from being used without permission.
He says some people and businesses used them to promote things.
Some defendants agreed to settle the case through mediation.
The agreement has not been formally signed yet.
The court gave the parties until November 16, 2026, to complete the paperwork.
If the settlement is unfinished or fails, Bachchan must attend the next hearing in person if he wants to continue with his claims.
His case mentions lottery schemes linked to his quiz show, Kaun Banega Crorepati.
It also mentions publishers, T-shirt sellers and other businesses.
On October 9, the Delhi High Court gave the parties until November 16, 2026, to complete settlement formalities with some defendants.
The court was told that mediation had led to a settlement, but the agreement had not been formally signed because of logistical issues on Bachchan’s part.
If the settlement is incomplete or fails, Bachchan must appear personally at the next hearing if he wishes to pursue unresolved claims.
Bachchan filed the suit in 2022, alleging that his name, image and voice were used without permission for commercial purposes.
The suit refers to alleged lottery schemes associated with Kaun Banega Crorepati, as well as publishers, T-shirt vendors and other businesses.
