Heavy rains lash several places in Telangana
Heavy rain fell across many parts of Telangana on Thursday, making rivers like the Godavari and Krishna overflow.
The Indian Meteorological Department warned people with red, orange, and yellow alerts.
Because of the rain, streams burst and some villages were cut off.
The state’s Revenue Minister told officials to help people move to safer places.
The rain helped fill reservoirs but still many areas got less water than needed.
Heavy rains hit many Telangana districts on Thursday, triggered by a low‑pressure area from Chhattisgarh.
Flooding occurred in the Godavari and Krishna rivers, and water levels rose in reservoirs.
The Indian Meteorological Department issued red alerts for several districts, with orange and yellow alerts for others.
Continuous rainfall over 48 hours caused streams to overflow, submerging low‑lying areas and cutting villages off.
Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy ordered coordination among departments and advised relocation of people from low‑lying areas.
