Puntland forces rescue tanker seized by Somali pirates
Puntland forces in Somalia rescued a tanker called MT Honour 25.
Pirates had taken the ship in April.
It was carrying 17 crew members, including 10 people from Pakistan.
The ship was taken near Puntland’s coast.
Puntland’s state television said the pirates were detained.
It also said they would be taken to court.
The rescue happened after another ship, Sibu 1, was reportedly freed the previous week.
Piracy near Somalia has raised concerns for ships traveling through the region.
Puntland security forces rescued the Palau-flagged tanker MT Honour 25, according to Puntland state television.
Pirates seized the vessel on April 21 about 30 nautical miles off Puntland’s coast.
The tanker had 17 crew members aboard, including 10 Pakistanis.
Puntland’s broadcaster said the detained pirates would be brought to court.
