Supreme Court Setback Deepens Delhi Race Club Eviction Fight

Supreme Court Setback Deepens Delhi Race Club Eviction Fight

The Delhi Race Club is trying to keep using nearly 53 acres of land in Delhi.

The Centre says the Club is no longer legally allowed to occupy the land.

The Club says its lease continued after it paid Rs.

3.48 crore in old dues in 2013.

The Centre disagrees and began eviction proceedings under a public-premises law.

On Tuesday, the Supreme Court rejected the Club’s appeal.

A district court also refused to temporarily stop the eviction process.

The L&DO had ordered the Club to leave within 15 days.

The Club now faces stronger legal pressure to vacate the property.
