Bengaluru's Sheelavanthakere Lake Receives a Much-Needed Overhaul
Sheelavanthakere Lake in Bengaluru is getting a makeover to fix pollution problems.
The city is building bigger drains to handle dirty water and adding special areas called wetlands and silt traps to clean the water.
These new additions will help to improve water quality, remove garbage and make the lake a better place.
The project will hopefully finish soon so that locals can enjoy the lake again.
Sheelavanthakere Lake is undergoing restoration after years of neglect.
The BBMP is investing Rs 1.9 crore in infrastructure upgrades.
A major expansion of the diversion drain is underway to prevent untreated sewage from entering the lake.
Wetlands and silt traps will be added to filter water and sediments.
The project aims to complete all development by the beginning of next month.
