India's Exports to China Surge Dramatically
India has been sending a lot more goods to China lately.
In the months from April to November, India's exports to China grew by 32.8%, which is a lot more than the overall growth of India's exports.
China now buys 5.8% of all the things India sells to other countries.
Some products, like shrimp and electronics, have seen huge increases in exports to China.
For example, shrimp exports grew by 1,307%, and certain electronic parts went up by 469%.
This growth is because the U.S. started charging more taxes on Indian shrimp, so India is selling more to China instead.
Other products like dried chilies, green gram, and metals also saw big increases in exports to China.
This shows that India and China are trading more with each other.
Additionally, India's seafood exports hit a record high of ₹62,408 crore in FY25, up by 3.11% compared to the previous year.
Despite U.S. tariffs, seafood exports continued to grow, with a 21% increase in value and 12% in quantity from April to October 2025.
The government's policies and investments in the fisheries sector have also played a significant role in this growth.
India's exports to China grew by 32.8% from April to November, while overall exports grew by only 2.6%.
China accounted for 40% of India's total export growth during this period, with exports reaching $12.22 billion.
Key products with significant growth include marine products (up 1,307%), telecom instruments (up 469%), and light naphtha (up 172%).
Electronics exports to China started this year, with flat panel display modules reaching $246.3 million and populated printed circuit boards up by 898%.
Agricultural products like dried chilies, green gram, and oil-cake residues, as well as base metals like aluminum and copper, also saw substantial increases in exports to China.
