Bigorexia in Teenagers Can Let Fitness Take Over Daily Life

Bigorexia is when someone thinks their body is not muscular or strong enough, even when other people think they look fit.

It is also called muscle dysmorphia.

It is a type of body dysmorphic disorder.

Someone with bigorexia may become very focused on exercise, muscles and protein.

Being interested in fitness does not automatically mean someone has bigorexia.

The problem becomes more serious when a person cannot take a break from their routine.

It can affect how they feel, their relationships and their everyday activities.
