Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel to visit US, Canada in August
A leader in India is going on a very special trip.
His name is Bhupendra Patel, and he is the Chief Minister of Gujarat, a big state in India.
A Chief Minister is like the head of the state's government.
He will visit two countries called the United States and Canada.
He is going there to tell business leaders about a big meeting called the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit.
That meeting is planned for the year 2027.
This trip is special because no Gujarat Chief Minister has visited the United States in more than 25 years.
The last one to go was Keshubhai Patel, back in 1995.
The trip will happen from August 17 to August 24.
Bhupendra Patel will lead a high-level delegation to the US and Canada from August 17 to 24.
The visit aims to promote the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2027.
It will be the first official visit to the US by a sitting Gujarat CM since 1995.
Government spokesperson Jitu Vaghani announced the visit after the State Cabinet meeting on Wednesday.
The last sitting Gujarat CM to officially visit the US was Keshubhai Patel; Narendra Modi was denied a US visa in 2005.
