Supreme Court to Hear Bihar Voter List Challenges
The Supreme Court is looking into how the voter lists in Bihar are being updated.
Some people are worried that many voters might be wrongly removed from the list.
The court said it will watch closely, and if a lot of people are unfairly left out, they will step in.
The Election Commission says they are using Aadhaar and voter ID to help update the lists.
Supreme Court will hear challenges to Bihar's electoral roll revision on August 12 and 13.
Petitioners allege potential mass exclusion in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process.
The Election Commission (EC) stated 65 lakh people haven't submitted forms, potentially requiring re-application.
The court will intervene if mass exclusion is found during the revision process.
EC is accepting Aadhaar and voter IDs with supporting documents for the SIR exercise.
