Parliament Monsoon Session Deadlock Continues as Government Pushes 19 Bills

India's Parliament is where leaders make laws for the country.

But lately, the two big groups of leaders cannot agree on what to talk about.

The opposition wants Home Minister Amit Shah to explain what happened during a student protest on July 20.

It also wants him to answer questions about donation theft allegations at the Ram Mandir.

The government says it is ready to talk, but it blames the opposition for stopping discussions.

Because of this argument, the Question Hour, where ministers answer questions, has been badly affected.

Even so, the government has passed 19 new laws, most of them very quickly.

Nine laws were passed in just 52 minutes total, and one about birth and death registration took barely a minute.

There is also a new bill about foreign money given to groups, which some people are worried about.

That bill may be sent to a special committee for a closer look before it becomes a law.
