Over Three Lakh Join Maharashtra’s Statewide Walk for Water

More than three lakh people in Maharashtra joined a special walk for water.

The event happened in all 36 districts at the same time.

Each person walked three kilometres.

The walk was meant to teach people why saving water and soil is important.

Students, farmers, women, young people and government workers participated.

The event began in Worli, Mumbai.

The government wants people to help with rainwater harvesting and groundwater recharge.

Maharashtra is also planning a water conservation campaign from August 15, 2026, to January 26, 2027.

Officials hope the walk will encourage every village and household to save water.
