Araku Passport Seva Kendra Celebrates One Year
The Araku Passport Seva Kendra, which started a year ago, has helped many people in the Araku Valley get passports without having to travel far.
In its first year, it issued 506 passports, mostly to men between 30 and 40 years old and students.
The office had some problems at the beginning with internet connections, but it got better and now works well.
People from nearby areas like Paderu and Kichumanda used the service the most.
The office is inside the local post office and has made it much easier for people in this remote area to get their passports.
The Araku Passport Seva Kendra celebrated its first anniversary on January 22, 2025, having issued 506 passports in its first year.
The office was established within the local sub-post office premises and initially faced network disruptions for a month.
The majority of applicants were men aged 30 to 40, with a significant number of students also obtaining passports.
The highest number of passports were issued to applicants from Paderu, followed by Kichumanda and Araku.
Residents have welcomed the office, describing it as a significant relief that has reduced the burden of long-distance travel.
