IGNOU Opens Nine One-Year Master's Degree Programmes
IGNOU is a big open university in India that lets students study from home.
It is now taking applications for new one-year Master's degree courses.
These courses are for students who have finished a four-year undergraduate programme.
There are nine courses to choose from, like Economics, History, English, and Hindi.
Students who want to apply must do so before August 16.
They need to have their APAAR ID ready when they apply.
The university is checking applications for the July 2026 admission cycle.
If there is a problem with an application, the university tells the student through the admission portal.
If everything is fine, the student gets an enrolment number and an ID card by email.
This lets students finish a Master's degree faster than usual.
Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is accepting applications for nine one-year Master's degree programmes for graduates of the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP).
The application deadline is August 16, 2026, and applicants are advised to keep their APAAR ID ready for the process.
The programmes include MA Economics, MA Sociology, MA History, MCom, MA Hindi, MA Journalism and Mass Communication, MA English, MA Sanskrit, and MA Urdu.
The courses were introduced in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and are delivered through IGNOU's open and distance learning system.
