BMC Demolishes 28 Structures for Delayed Andheri-Ghatkopar Road

The BMC has removed 28 structures near Jhunjhunwala College in Ghatkopar.

This is part of a plan to widen a road and improve connections in the area.

Nearly 60 structures were removed last year, but about 250 affected structures still line the road.

The BMC is also building a wider road beside Ghatkopar (West) railway station.

A rail overbridge is being rebuilt as part of the connectivity work.

The work has been delayed, and its target completion date is now June 2027.

Officials say structures are being removed in stages based on arrangements to help affected occupants.

In a separate action, the BMC cleared footpath obstructions in Sewri.
