Delhi Building Incidents Leave 30 Dead, 120 Injured Through September

Delhi’s fire department received more than 330 calls about building problems this year through September 6.

These incidents included serious collapses as well as smaller problems such as cracks, falling bricks, and roof collapses.

Thirty people died and 120 were injured.

Last year, there were more calls and more reported casualties during the same period.

On September 6, a five-storey building used as a boys’ paying guest accommodation collapsed in Satya Niketan.

Rescuers pulled 12 people from the rubble.

Seven died and five were injured.

Police arrested three members of the building-owning family while investigating what caused the collapse.
