Officer Suspended Over HMT Land Denotification Case
Imagine a government worker, like a forest manager, who did something they weren't supposed to regarding some land.
This worker, R Gokul, helped file a request to change the status of a large piece of forest land that was given to a company.
He didn't get permission from the forest minister or tell the government about it first, which is against the rules.
Because of this, he's been temporarily removed from his job while the government looks into what happened.
This happened after the forest minister said action should be taken.
Before this, he did a good job in a different role by catching illegal exporting of iron ore.
R Gokul, an IFS officer, has been suspended.
The suspension follows a recommendation by the forest minister.
Gokul is accused of involvement in the denotification of HMT land.
