Omar Abdullah: Kashmiri Pandits' security threats must not be overlooked

Omar Abdullah is the chief minister of a place in India called Jammu and Kashmir.

He spoke to reporters about keeping people safe.

He is worried about a community called the Kashmiri Pandits who work there.

Some bad people have made threats against them, and a few years ago some community members were hurt or killed.

Mr. Abdullah says police and leaders must take these threats seriously.

He wants the people making the threats to be caught and punished.

He also wants guards and protection for Kashmiri Pandit workers.

Mr. Abdullah is also asking for Jammu and Kashmir to get its own state government back.

He says a big leader, Prime Minister Modi, promised this and it has not happened yet.

So his party may hold a peaceful march in Delhi to ask for it.
