India to Host 12th BRICS Environment Ministers' Meeting in Delhi
India is having some important guests from other countries.
These guests are the environment ministers of a group called BRICS.
BRICS is a group of countries that work together on big problems.
They will meet in a big building called Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
The meetings will happen on August 17 and 18, 2026.
On the first day, senior officers will talk about environmental ideas.
On the second day, the ministers themselves will meet.
They will talk about keeping the Earth clean and green.
India wants to talk about four things: living in a way that is good for nature, planting trees and stopping forest fires, reusing and recycling waste, and helping people deal with climate change.
The ministers will share ideas and try to agree on how to work together to protect our planet.
India will host the 12th BRICS Environment Ministers' Meeting and Senior Officers' Meeting at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on August 17-18, 2026.
The Senior Officers' Meeting of the BRICS Environment Working Group and Contact Group on Climate Change and Sustainable Development will take place on August 17.
The event is held under India's BRICS Chairship 2026 theme 'Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability'.
Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav will attend the ministerial meeting on August 18.
India's four priority areas are sustainable lifestyles, afforestation and forest fire management, circular economy, and climate adaptation.
