Nicholas Hoult Almost Batman; Now to Play Lex Luthor
Nicholas Hoult and Robert Pattinson were both considered to play Batman.
They even tried on the Batsuit.
But Robert Pattinson got the part.
Hoult was bummed, especially since he heard the news on the radio before his audition.
Now, Hoult will get to play Lex Luthor in a future Superman movie.
So, even though he missed out on Batman, he's still joining the world of superheroes!
Nicholas Hoult and Robert Pattinson were top contenders for the Batman role.
Both actors screen-tested in the Val Kilmer Batsuit from 'Batman Forever'.
Pattinson was ultimately cast as Batman in May 2019.
Hoult found out about Pattinson's likely casting before his audition.
