McDonald's India Adds Protein Slice to Burgers
McDonald's in India is adding a new protein-rich ingredient to its burgers called a 'protein slice.'
This slice, which looks like cheese, is made from plants and adds extra protein to the burgers.
They hope this will make their food healthier and address the fact that many Indians don't get enough protein.
The protein slice was created with help from scientists and doesn't have any artificial colors, onion, or garlic.
You can add it to any burger for extra protein.
McDonald's India launched a new 'Protein Plus' range featuring a plant-based protein slice.
The protein slice, weighing 15 grams, provides 5 grams of protein and can be added to any burger.
The initiative aims to make McDonald's food more wholesome and address India's protein deficiency.
The protein slice was developed in collaboration with CSIR–Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI).
The protein slice is made from soy, pea, and whey protein and does not contain preservatives, artificial colors, onion, or garlic.
