First 3D-Printed Titanium Talus Bone Surgery Achieved
Doctors at Yashoda Hospitals in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh did something new!
They replaced a bone in a person's ankle with a special 3D-printed one made of titanium.
This is the first time this has been done in these states.
The patient, named Pankaj, had a problem with his ankle after an old injury.
Instead of the usual way to fix it (fusing the ankle), doctors used this new, high-tech method.
The new bone was made to fit perfectly using special scans.
The surgery was successful, helping Pankaj to move his ankle freely again and get rid of the pain.
Yashoda Hospitals performed the first 3D-printed titanium talus bone replacement in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
The surgery was led by Dr. Sunil Dachepalli.
The patient was 38-year-old Pankaj, who suffered avascular necrosis after an injury.
The custom 3D-printed implant was designed using CT scans.
The surgery successfully restored full mobility and relieved pain.
