Vijay Fan's Suicide Attempt Highlights TVK Appointment Dispute
Gilli Kumaran has supported actor and politician C. Joseph Vijay for many years.
He joined Vijay's party, the Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam, and worked during the election.
Kumaran wanted an organisational position in the party.
He said his requests were ignored and that other people were receiving important posts.
He made a video and drank poison mixed with a soft drink.
His friend found him and took him to a hospital.
Kumaran is being treated in intensive care.
The incident has worried supporters of the party in Thoothukudi.
Gilli Kumaran, a long-time Vijay fan and TVK worker, allegedly attempted suicide in Thoothukudi.
He consumed poison mixed with a soft drink and recorded a video explaining his distress.
Kumaran alleged that long-time fans were sidelined while party posts went to financially influential people and newcomers from other parties.
His friend Robin Raj took him to Thoothukudi Government Medical College Hospital, where he is receiving intensive care.
