China Turns Buddhist Wooden Fish Into Cute Toys
Pop Mart, a Chinese toy company, has created a new series of plush toys called Pucky Knock Knock.
These toys are inspired by a Buddhist instrument called the muyu, which is a wooden fish.
The toys come with a wooden stick that makes a meow-like sound when tapped on the toy's head.
The muyu is traditionally used by Buddhist monks to keep rhythm while chanting.
Now, it's also used in mobile apps to add virtue and good fortune.
The Pucky Knock Knock series features six normal figures and one secret version, each representing different positive attributes.
These toys are very popular and sell out quickly, with the secret version selling for three times its original price in the second-hand market.
