Junior Teachers Protest for Job Regularisation in Bhubaneswar
Imagine teachers who work in schools but aren't hired permanently.
They are asking to become regular employees.
These junior teachers, who teach in government schools, went to the government building to ask for permanent jobs.
They get paid less than regular teachers and don't get benefits for the first six months if something happens.
Even though their pay went up, the teachers still want the government to make their jobs permanent right away.
They also are worried about the government starting new programs in schools but not hiring enough teachers to make it work.
Junior teachers held a protest near the state assembly.
They demand the regularisation of their jobs.
More than 13,000 teachers are working on a contractual basis.
Teachers currently receive Rs 16,100 per month.
Government has acknowledged the demand and will take steps.
