DRDO Focuses on Electronic Warfare and Indigenous Fighter Aircraft
The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is working on advanced electronic warfare technologies and developing its own fighter aircraft.
They want to make India self-reliant in defence by 2047.
The DRDO is focusing on new technologies like photonics and quantum technologies to improve electronic warfare.
They are also developing the LCA Tejas and AMCA fighter aircraft, which will be made in India.
The Uttam AESA radar is one of their key achievements, and they are working on integrating it with fighter platforms.
The DRDO says they have enough funding and support from the government to achieve their goals.
Air Vice Marshal Ashutosh Dixit emphasized that true self-reliance in electronic warfare is achieved when India owns both the chip and the code.
He highlighted the importance of electronic warfare in modern conflicts, citing Operation Sindoor as an example where electronic dominance played a crucial role in blinding the enemy and turning billion-dollar hardware into silent statues.
The conference included presentations on various aspects of electronic warfare and an exhibition showcasing technologies from around the world.
DRDO is focusing on next-generation electronic warfare technologies and indigenous fighter aircraft.
The Electronic Warfare Conference-India (EWCI) aims to bring together stakeholders to work on electronic warfare.
DRDO is developing advanced technologies like photonics and quantum technologies for future warfare.
Indigenous fighter aircraft programs include the LCA Tejas Mk-1, Mk-1A, Mk-2, and the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA).
The Uttam AESA radar has proven its capabilities and is ready for integration with fighter platforms.
