Meta Executives Face Second NCPCR Hearing Over Child Abuse Ads

Meta Executives Face Second NCPCR Hearing Over Child Abuse Ads

India’s child-rights commission is investigating claims that advertisements connected to child abuse material appeared on Meta’s platforms.

Meta India chief Arun Srinivas and other company executives met the commission again.

They reportedly repeated what Meta had already told the electronics and information technology ministry.

Meta also said it would send child-safety reports directly to India’s cybercrime portal.

The company said protecting children is a priority and that it wants offenders held responsible.

The investigation began after a BBC Eye report about the alleged advertisements.

The commission also called a Capgemini official to answer questions about alleged child abuse at a Bengaluru day-care centre.

The NCPCR is examining both matters separately.
