Assam, Meghalaya CMs Agree Joint Efforts After Shillong Violence

Violence broke out in Shillong during a protest motorcycle rally organized by the Khasi Students’ Union.

Many vehicles were damaged, some vehicles were set on fire, and people were injured.

Some of the vehicles belonged to Assam, which caused concern in that neighboring state.

The chief ministers of Assam and Meghalaya spoke about the situation.

They agreed that their governments should work together to bring back peace and normal travel.

Ministers from both states will meet to discuss what to do next.

Meghalaya Police have registered cases and arrested three protest leaders.
