Farmers advised to prevent pest attacks in mango orchards
Farmers in Sri Sathya Sai district are being advised to take precautions to protect their mango orchards from pests and diseases.
The orchards are currently in the flowering stage and are vulnerable to powdery mildew, hoppers, and other sap-sucking pests.
These pests can harm the flowers and fruits if not controlled in time.
The Horticulture Department is spreading awareness and giving advice on how to control these pests.
Farmers are advised to spray specific chemicals like Hexaconazole and Imidacloprid to prevent these pests.
They should also avoid spraying pesticides when flowering is around 75 percent and no pests are seen.
If fruits start falling at certain stages, farmers should spray Planofix to reduce fruit shedding.
