Andhra Pradesh Sees Revenue Growth in Liquor and Property

Andhra Pradesh Sees Revenue Growth in Liquor and Property

In the first two weeks of January 2024, the Andhra Pradesh government sold a lot of liquor, making ₹1,584 crore.

This is more than the ₹1,223 crore they made in the same period last year.

People bought 22.69 lakh cases of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and 8.47 lakh cases of beer this year, which is also more than last year.

However, during the Sankranti festival, sales were a bit less than last year.

The government increased the price of liquor by ₹10 per bottle, except for small bottles.

People lined up at shops, especially in the Godavari and Krishna districts, to buy liquor for cockfights.

Additionally, the state government achieved significant growth in revenues from property registrations and excise duties in December 2025, with 59.22% of the property tax target and 63.38% of the excise target met.

This growth was driven by huge liquor sales during New Year celebrations.
