Bengaluru Railway Vent Work: December Deadline Set by Municipal Chief
The head of Bengaluru's government wants a railway project finished by December.
This project involves making a railway vent (a kind of tunnel) wider to help prevent flooding.
The current vent is too small, and when it rains, water can't flow away quickly, causing floods in the Sai Layout area.
A project worth over 13 crores is underway to install wider concrete boxes under the railway tracks.
The official is pushing to speed up this process to solve the flooding problem, which affects over 400 families.
GBA Chief Commissioner directed officials to finish Geddalahalli Railway Vent work by December.
The current railway vent is too narrow, causing flooding.
A project costing Rs 13.36 crore is underway to widen the vent.
Sai Layout in Horamavu is prone to flooding due to the incomplete vent work.
Officials were also instructed to address garbage dumping and road improvements.
