Tata Power's Q2 Profit Dips Marginally, Revenue Misses Estimates
Tata Power, a company that provides electricity, recently shared its financial results for the last three months.
Their profit went down a tiny bit compared to the same time last year, and it was a little less than what people who study companies expected.
The amount of money they earned from selling electricity also dropped slightly.
However, the company is still doing very well in other areas, especially in clean energy like solar power, where their profits grew a lot.
Their electricity distribution services are also serving more people and making more money.
Tata Power is building many new clean energy projects and is even planning to build a very large factory to make important parts for solar panels.
They also want to grow their business of delivering electricity to homes and businesses in new areas.
The company is also looking into the possibilities of thermal and nuclear power.
Tata Power reported a marginal 0.8% year-on-year drop in net profit to ₹919 crore for Q2 FY26, missing analyst estimates.
Revenue for the quarter declined by 1% to ₹15,545 crore, also falling short of analyst expectations.
The company's renewables business saw significant growth with PAT up 70% and revenue up 89%, while the distribution business PAT grew 34% YoY.
Tata Power is planning to establish a 10 GW wafer and ingot manufacturing plant and is exploring opportunities in power distribution across Maharashtra, Goa, and Uttar Pradesh.
Despite facing challenges and missing estimates, the company highlighted its strong pipeline of 10 GW clean capacity under construction and its integrated business model.
