Bengaluru Metro Expands Yellow Line
The Bengaluru Metro has added a sixth train to its Yellow Line, which runs between Electronic City and R V Road.
This means trains will now come every 13 minutes during busy times from Monday to Saturday, and every 15 minutes on Sundays.
The Yellow Line helps a lot of people who work in the IT sector in Electronic City.
The metro is also planning to expand further, with new lines and stations opening in 2026 and 2027.
By 2027, the total metro network in Bengaluru will be 175.55 km long.
The goal is to make it easier for people to get around the city and reduce traffic congestion.
Bengaluru Metro launched a sixth train on the Yellow Line, increasing frequency to 13 minutes during peak hours from Monday to Saturday.
The Yellow Line connects Electronic City and R V Road, serving thousands of IT workers and reducing traffic congestion by 37%.
The current operational metro network is 96.1 km, with plans to expand to 137.11 km by 2026 and 175.55 km by 2027.
New lines and stations are scheduled to open in 2026, including the Reach 6 Line and Phase 2A of the Pink Line.
By 2027, Phase-2B will connect Hebbal to Kempegowda International Airport, and an additional 11 km stretch from Hebbal to Krishnarajapuram will be completed.
