CRS to Inspect New Railway Section in Hortoki-Sairang
Imagine a new train track is being built.
Before people can ride the train, a special inspector called the Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) checks the tracks to make sure they are safe.
This week, the CRS is checking a new part of the Bairabi-Sairang train line.
The inspector will look at how the tracks were built to ensure everything is up to standard.
If all is well, the train line might open soon, maybe even this month, so people can start using it.
CRS will inspect the Bairabi-Sairang railway section from Friday.
The inspection is expected to conclude by June 11.
The inspection covers the Hortoki-Sairang section of the 51.38km broad gauge railway project.
CRS had previously certified the Bairabi–Hortoki section in July 2023.
If the inspection goes well, the Bairabi-Sairang railway could be commissioned this month.
