Gehlot urges Rajasthan government to prepare for water crisis

A former leader of a big state in India is worried about water.

The rains this year have been weaker than normal.

Because of this, many dams in the state are dry.

One important dam, Bisalpur, has not received any rainwater this season.

That dam provides drinking water to nearly 1.16 crore people.

The state has received 11 per cent less rain than usual.

Drought-like conditions have appeared in 23 districts.

The former leader is asking the government to make plans for water and fodder.

He also wants job and emergency arrangements for people.
