Bay low-pressure to deepen, heavy rain alert in South Bengal

Bay low-pressure to deepen, heavy rain alert in South Bengal

Over the Bay of Bengal, a big swirl of wind and clouds is getting stronger.

Weather scientists call it a low-pressure area, and they think it will become a deep depression.

A deep depression brings lots of rain and strong winds.

Some places in South Bengal, a part of India, will get heavy rain for the next few days.

The weather office put out a yellow alert, which is a warning that rough weather is coming.

Fishermen were told not to go out to sea until August 15 because the water will be dangerous.

Winds could blow as fast as 50 to 70 kilometers an hour.

There may also be thunderstorms with gusts of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour.

The rain should ease by Saturday and Sunday, with only light showers.

People are asked to stay alert and keep an eye on weather updates.
