Lotus Petal Raises ₹55.6 Lakh in First CSR-Rule SSE Issue

Lotus Petal Raises ₹55.6 Lakh in First CSR-Rule SSE Issue

Lotus Petal Foundation is a charity that runs a school in India.

In India, big companies must spend some of their money helping people, which is called CSR.

The government changed the rules so companies can use some of that money to buy special bonds.

These special bonds are called ZCZP bonds, and they never pay money back.

Instead, the money goes straight to helping a social project.

Inspired by this new rule, the foundation asked people to buy its first special bond.

It hoped to raise one crore rupees, and it got 55.6 lakh rupees.

That was more than the minimum needed, so the fundraising worked.

One company, GTPL Hathway, gave about a quarter of the money from its helping fund.

The money will pay for one year of school for 160 children, including books, food, and transport.
