Bengaluru Officials Bust ₹5 Crore Fake Drug Racket

Bengaluru Officials Bust ₹5 Crore Fake Drug Racket

Officials found a place near Bengaluru where medicines were allegedly repackaged and given false labels.

Some labels were made to look like those of Pfizer and other major companies.

The medicines seized were worth more than ₹5 crore.

Officials said the operation did not have a valid drug licence.

They also said medicines bought for ₹600 to ₹700 were being sold for ₹6,000 to ₹7,000.

The government has created a Special Investigation Team to investigate.

Officials suspect that medicines came from several Indian states and possibly other countries.

They are trying to find shops and patients who may have received the medicines without knowing they were spurious.
