South Zone Abilympics in Chennai Highlights PwDs Skills
Imagine a big talent show for people with disabilities called the Abilympics!
It's like the Olympics, but for skills like baking, cleaning, and designing.
This year, it was held in Chennai, India, and lots of talented people competed.
The winners will get to go to the national competition and maybe even represent India in Finland!
The event also had a job fair to help people find work.
It's all about showing what people with disabilities can do and helping them find jobs and be successful.
South Zone Regional Abilympics 2025 concluded at IIT Madras, recognizing 14 Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) for their vocational skills.
The event, organized by NAAI and Sarthak Educational Trust, supports India's participation in the 11th International Abilympics in Finland (2027).
Around 100 PwDs from six southern states competed in over 30 vocational skills, from traditional trades to modern fields.
Medalists will compete at the National Abilympics 2025 in Delhi, the final selection for the international team.
