Sonic Boom Across England After RAF Jets Intercept Plane
Imagine a plane going so fast it breaks the sound barrier!
That's what caused a loud boom over parts of England.
An airplane lost contact with people on the ground, so some special fighter jets called Typhoons went to check it out.
These jets are super fast and when they flew near the plane, they made a loud noise, like thunder.
The plane was safely guided to an airport, and everything was okay.
It was just a bit of a surprise for people on the ground who felt their houses shake!
RAF Typhoon jets intercepted a civilian plane that lost contact with air traffic controllers.
A sonic boom was heard across eastern and south-eastern England.
The incident occurred around 11:40 BST on Friday morning.
The civilian aircraft, traveling from Nice, was escorted to Stansted Airport.
Essex Police found nothing of concern after the plane landed.
