Bhopal Finds 5.92 Lakh Homes Violating Building Rules
A survey found that many homes in Bhopal do not fully follow building rules.
About 5.92 lakh homes were reported to have some kind of violation.
These problems can include building extra floors or not leaving enough open space.
The city also has more than 5,000 old and damaged buildings.
Nearly 740 government buildings are considered extremely unsafe.
Officials can inspect buildings and order owners to fix problems or stop using them.
People are worried because building collapses have injured and killed people in nearby incidents.
The survey covered every listed housing block in Bhopal.
Nearly 5.92 lakh of Bhopal’s 7,40,923 census houses reportedly have construction or building-rule violations.
The violations include breaches of the Madhya Pradesh Bhumi Vikas Rules, 2012, such as MOS and FAR violations.

The April phase-1 survey covered all 3,285 House Listing Blocks across the city’s 21 municipal zones.
