Parents Honored for Courage and Dedication at Telegraph School Awards
At an awards ceremony, special prizes were given to parents who were super brave and worked really hard to help their kids.
One award went to the parents of a girl named Afrida, who can't see but studies very hard, getting great grades and even getting a scholarship.
Her mom is very proud of her.
Another award was for Suroj's mom.
His dad sells things to make money, and Suroj walks a long way to school every day.
Someone at the event heard about this and offered to give Suroj a bicycle.
These parents are being celebrated for showing everyone how to be strong and caring.
The Abhirup Bhadra Memorial Baba Ma Award was presented to parents at The Telegraph School Awards for Excellence 2025 North Bengal.
Piyar Ali and Anjuma Khatun were honored for supporting their visually challenged daughter, Afrida Parveen, who achieved high academic scores.
Afrida Parveen, despite her visual impairment, scored 90% in her exams and received a scholarship.
Shampa Paul, mother of Suroj Paul, also received the award for her dedication to her son's education.
A generous audience member pledged to gift Suroj Paul a bicycle after hearing about his long walk to school.
