Ambuja Cements to Merge ACC and Orient
Ambuja Cements, a company owned by the Adani Group, has decided to merge two of its other companies, ACC and Orient Cement, into itself.
This means that ACC and Orient Cement will no longer exist as separate companies.
Instead, their shareholders will get shares in Ambuja Cements.
The merger is expected to make the company stronger and more efficient.
It will also help Ambuja Cements to increase its cement production capacity.
The merger still needs approval from regulators and shareholders, and it is expected to be completed in the next year.
Ambuja Cements' board approves the amalgamation of ACC and Orient Cement.
Shareholders of ACC and Orient will receive Ambuja Cements shares in a predefined swap ratio.
The merger aims to create a pan-India cement platform and optimize operations.
Expected to improve margins by at least ₹100 per tonne and scale capacity to 155 MTPA by FY28.
