Hyderabad Launches Streetlight Audit Following Complaints
The city of Hyderabad is having a lot of problems with its streetlights.
Many are broken or not bright enough, with about 20,000 complaints each month.
To fix this, the city's government is starting a big check-up of all the streetlights.
They'll hire a company to inspect the lights and make sure they are working properly.
The company will check how bright the lights are and fix any that are faulty.
The city will also create an easier way for people to report problems with the lights.
All of this is to make the streets safer and more energy-efficient.
GHMC is conducting a citywide audit of streetlights due to a high number of complaints.
A third-party agency will inspect LED streetlights and related infrastructure.
The audit will measure light output to ensure compliance with standards.
A centralized complaint management system will be established for reporting issues.
The initiative builds on a 2017 partnership with Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL).
