Manipur Orders Tough Action Against Illegal Arms After Civilian Killings

Manipur held a meeting about violence and illegal weapons.

Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh said anyone found with illegal guns should face strong action.

He said this rule should apply to everyone, no matter which community they belong to.

The meeting happened after four civilians were killed on the IT Road.

Another person was injured in the attack.

Officials were told to find and arrest the people responsible.

Groups representing Naga people said Kuki militants carried out the attack.

The government statement did not publicly name the attackers.

Militant fighters who carry weapons outside their approved camps may also face action.
