India and EU finalize landmark trade deal
India and the European Union (EU) have signed a very big and important trade deal called the Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
This deal makes it easier for both countries to sell and buy things from each other, which is good for their economies.
The leaders of India and the EU, including President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, had a special dinner to celebrate this new friendship.
They also talked about working together to keep the world safe and stable.
The EU leader, Ursula von der Leyen, wore a beautiful yellow Indian outfit designed by Indian designers.
They made a plan called the India–EU Joint Comprehensive Strategic Agenda to help them work together on important things like technology, security, and making people's lives better.
This deal is expected to create more jobs and opportunities for people in both India and the EU.
However, the success of the deal will depend on how well both sides implement it and overcome regulatory and compliance challenges.
The deal is also expected to influence India's trade strategy and its willingness to open its market further.
Additionally, the deal may have implications for the India-US trade deal, as the US remains a key strategic partner for India.
India and the EU finalized a landmark Free Trade Agreement (FTA) during a three-day visit by EU leaders.
The FTA covers 97% of Indian and 99.5% of EU exports, with significant tariff reductions.
Leaders adopted the India–EU Joint Comprehensive Strategic Agenda for five years of strategic cooperation.
The agreement includes a Security and Defence Partnership, focusing on maritime security and counterterrorism.
The FTA is expected to boost economic ties, create jobs, and strengthen global influence, but its success will depend on implementation and overcoming regulatory challenges.
