Tata Steel Reports Significant Profit Jump in September Quarter
Tata Steel, a big company that makes steel, had a really great three months ending in September.
Their profits shot up by more than three times compared to last year, reaching over Rs 3,100 crore!
This happened because they sold steel for more money and managed to spend less, partly thanks to a plan to cut costs.
Even though things are a bit tough in the world for steel companies, Tata Steel did a good job, with their overall sales also going up by almost 9%.
In India, they made more steel and delivered more of it to customers, especially in building and car-related areas.
They are also working on making their factories in the UK and the Netherlands more environmentally friendly.
To grow their business even more, they are buying the rest of a company that makes special steel products for buildings.
Tata Steel's consolidated net profit surged by 272% to Rs 3,102 crore in the September quarter.
Consolidated revenue increased by 8.9% year-on-year to Rs 58,689 crore.
EBITDA rose by 45% to Rs 8,897 crore, with the EBITDA margin improving to 15.2%.
India operations saw an 8% rise in crude steel production and a 17% increase in deliveries quarter-on-quarter.
The company is acquiring the remaining 50% stake in Tata BlueScope Steel and focusing on decarbonisation projects in the UK and Netherlands.
