Ocean Way Festival Canceled After Hurricane Marie Beach Erosion
The Ocean Way Festival was supposed to happen in Santa Monica.
It was planned as a two-day music event.
The Killers and Olivia Dean were the main performers.
Hurricane Marie caused strong waves and water runoff.
These damaged and wore away part of the beach.
Because of this, the city said the festival could not safely happen as planned.
People who bought tickets will receive refunds automatically.
Organizers hope to hold the festival in Santa Monica in 2027.
Santa Monica canceled the inaugural Ocean Way Festival because hurricane-related erosion made the site unsafe.
The festival had been scheduled for September 26 and 27, with The Killers and Olivia Dean as headliners.
Other scheduled performers included Jack White, Sublime, Alvvays, Khruangbin, and several DJs and musical acts.
Organizers said ticket refunds are being processed automatically and should appear within a few business days.
Plans are already underway to bring Ocean Way Festival to Santa Monica in 2027.
